Milton Keynes Residents Invited to Shape the City's Age-Friendly Future in New Open University Research Project
Residents of Milton Keynes are being asked to share their experiences and help shape the future of their city as part of a new research project launched by the Open University in partnership with Milton Keynes City Council, Milton Keynes Development Partnership, and The Hague University of Applied Sciences in The Netherlands.
The study will explore how "age-friendly" Milton Keynes is considered by its residents, drawing on the World Health Organisation's (2007) framework for developing age-friendly cities and communities. This initiative aims to create urban environments that are inclusive and supportive for people of all ages.
Whether you are aged 18-64 or 65 years and over, your insights into living, working, and participating in leisure activities in Milton Keynes are invaluable. The research team invites you to anonymously complete a survey detailing your experiences. Residents are also encouraged to invite their family and friends to take part and contribute to this important initiative.
The data gathered will directly inform the future plans and age-friendly strategic objectives of Milton Keynes City Council, MK Development Partnership, and Age UK Milton Keynes. This research will play a crucial role in contributing to the Milton Keynes 2050 City Plan and the priorities of Age UK Milton Keynes, marking the first step in a significant ambition to make Milton Keynes a truly age-friendly and dementia-friendly city for all its inhabitants.
