MFG Takes Over Morrisons Petrol Station in Milton Keynes Next Week
Motor Fuel Group (MFG), the UK’s largest independent forecourt operator, acquired 337 Morrisons petrol stations earlier this year, including the Westcroft site in Milton Keynes.
From next week, MFG will officially take over operations at Westcroft as part of a £2.5 billion deal.
The takeover will include the installation of ultra-rapid electric vehicle (EV) charging hubs at Westcroft, as MFG are set to roll these out across many of their branches to support the UK's growing demand for EV infrastructure.
Local residents are hopeful that MFG will also address ongoing issues with the pumps, such as slow refuelling times and frequent pump outages.
As part of the deal, the petrol station will continue to sell Morrisons grocery items, ensuring that customers have access to the same range of products they are accustomed to.
This acquisition is part of MFG's strategy to expand its presence across the UK and support the transition to electric vehicles. MFG aims to install up to 3,000 ultra-rapid chargers by 2030, with the Westcroft site set to become a key location in this rollout. These upgrades reflect MFG's commitment to sustainability and innovation, providing better services for both traditional fuel customers and EV drivers.
MFG’s CEO, William Bannister, emphasised the importance of this acquisition in strengthening the company’s position as a leader in both traditional and electric fuel markets, particularly in areas like Milton Keynes.
