Gulliver’s Land Seeks Milton Keynes Talent for Charity Event Supporting Willen Hospice
Gulliver’s Land in Milton Keynes is on the lookout for local musicians and dancers to perform at a special charity event in aid of Willen Hospice.
The theme park aims to entertain visitors with a weekend of performances on the 21st and 22nd of September.
A percentage of each ticket sold for the event will be donated to Willen Hospice.
Resort Director Sue Conway shared her excitement about the upcoming event, stating that Gulliver’s Land is eager to "provide some wonderful entertainment" with acts including flash mobs, majorettes, and bands.
Those selected to perform will receive free entry to the park, which is celebrating its 25th anniversary in Milton Keynes this year. The park, which opened next to Willen Lake in 1999, is one of four Gulliver’s theme parks in the UK and is designed for children aged two to thirteen''.
Guest Experience Manager Liam Garcia announced that an African drumming troupe from Milton Keynes and a dance school from Northampton are already confirmed, alongside some vocalists.
He explained that the theme park started fundraising for Willen Hospice after the pandemic impacted the hospice’s income, but this is the first time they’ve organised a whole weekend dedicated to local acts.
"This year we thought, ‘Let’s go bigger’. We wanted to create more of a carnival atmosphere this time," he added.
Willen Hospice has been a vital part of the Milton Keynes community since 1981, providing specialist, personalised care for patients and their families.
Sue Conway highlighted the importance of supporting the hospice: "While 15% of its annual running costs are met by the NHS, the hospice continues to provide its palliative care services free of charge, doing incredible work. We are pleased to be able to give a little something back to the hospice team."
