Embrace the Challenge: Race Across MK – Your Summer Adventure for a Cause!

Have you ever watched "Race Across the World" and found yourself dreaming of an adventure, pushing your limits, and truly immersing yourself in a new place? Well, your chance to live that dream is here, right on your doorstep! Age UK Milton Keynes is thrilled to announce "Race Across MK," a thrilling, unique challenge taking place on the 14th, 15th, and 16th of August 2025.

Inspired by the hugely popular TV series, Race Across MK will challenge teams of 2 to 4 to navigate our vibrant city with the same core principles: No Cars, No Internet, One Budget, in One City. Forget relying on GPS or ride-sharing apps; this is about old-school navigation, teamwork, problem-solving, and rediscovering the hidden gems of Milton Keynes.

But this isn't just about the thrill of the race. Every step you take, every challenge you conquer, will directly support a vital cause close to home. Age UK Milton Keynes is encouraging participants to help support older people in their clubs living with different levels of dementia.

Making a Real Difference, Locally

Your participation will directly benefit Age UK Milton Keynes' invaluable dementia support programs:

• Sparks: These weekly, two-hour sessions at the Peartree Centre offer a small, friendly environment where individuals with mild to moderate dementia can enjoy socialising and engaging in activities designed to stimulate and improve mental agility.

• COGS: At COGS, participants benefit from weekly sessions of Maintenance Cognitive Stimulation Therapy (MCST) in a caring and supportive setting. These meaningful and stimulating activities are proven to help maintain memory and mental functioning, fostering new friendships and a sense of community.

What to Expect:

Teams will set out from The Peartree Centre each morning, armed with a map, a budget, and a series of clues. You'll need to strategize, communicate, and think on your feet as you race to find locations around MK – some familiar, some to be discovered for the first time. It's a fantastic opportunity for families, friends, or colleagues to bond, test their ingenuity, and experience Milton Keynes from a whole new perspective.
